I don't often 'do' black and white. Not sure why, maybe because I love light and colour - seeing as there is plenty of that available where I live here in Melbourne. But this shot below that I took last month, well, I love it as black and white.
A little question - how old do you think the subject in the image is?
Don't forget to head on over to the wonderful i heart faces so you can check out the all of the fabulous dramatic black and white images from so many talented people!

Beautiful shot. I love the hair sweeping across her face. How old is she? At first glance, she looks like a child...but I am wondering if it isn't a young woman? Well done, and thank you for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeletereally love this!! her freckles, eyelashes, and hair sweeping across her face look so perfect in the B&W!! i would say she looks about 12...
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't look very old, maybe around 7-ish, but the treatment and the mood of the photo makes her appear older than she really is. I love it!
ReplyDeleteSimply amazing. You sit the bar so high!!!
ReplyDeleteI am such a bad age guesser, so I'll have to defer on answering. But I do love this image and the wet hair being swept to the side like that. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be one of my favorites! Fantastic mood, love the angle! And I have to agree with your comments on converting to B&W, I too find I prefer light/colors to the classic monotone theme. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThe movement of her hair and the downcast eyes add to the moodiness of the image. It is not a sad image, but contemplative, like we are on the cusp of something big happening. Lovely! (And I guess her at age 10?)
